One Night Only – A Tribute to Elton John

For Elton fans, the phrase “one night only” is not unfamiliar. Elton John performed and recorded one of his greatest shows ever in 1999, One Night Only Live at Madison Square Garden. Elton performed his greatest hits in that show, as well as some stellar minor hits like “Club at the End of the Street” and the wonderful ballad “Little Jeanie.” The show was completed with an appearance by Kiki Dee on “Don`t Go Breaking My Heart”. ? The show not only includes music from the One Night Only Live concert, but also Live in 1989 Verona Italy Tour. The Verona tour was unique in that it took place in the late 1980s and featured Elton at a Roland Keyboard in front of his fans, with the high-energy band enthroned around Sir Reg. After that tour, he was mostly seen sitting behind one of his Yamaha concert grands, minus the music videos and possibly more intimate shows. ? The show debuted in the Spring of 2022 and has since sold out every venue it has visited. The show has been at Wow! Zone, Blue Boat, Mankato Playhouse, and Chankaska Ranch and Winery Event Center. We have an electric show that will keep entertained all night. We`re excited to perform in new places and entertaining new audiences.

Becky and the High 48’s – Bluegrass Band

The High 48s team-up with acclaimed Minnesota singer and songwriter Becky Schlegel, combining their high-energy modern bluegrass sound with Schlegel’s soulful singing and her sophisticated take on three-chords-and-the-truth country songwriting. Although this is the first time they’ve performed together as a band, they’ve been collaborating for years. “We were Becky fans long before we started the band, but it took us a few years to work up the courage to ask if she had any songs for us,” said the 48s’ fiddler and mandolinist, Eric Christopher. And as it turned out, she did have some songs. Lots of them. The 48s recorded Becky Schlegel’s “Baltimore and Ohio,” which she penned with Nashville songwriter Craig Market, for their 2014 release Great Northern Railroad, and “Christmas Every Day” for 2016’s Holidays with the High 48s. But each time they picked a song for the record, there were many more gems left on the cutting room floor — not enough room on the album. According to Christopher, “That was our first inkling that there might be more to this collaboration than borrowing a song every couple of years.” So, in the summer of 2023, Becky and 48s will release “Laramie,” their first collaborative single. “Laramie,” a Becky Schlegel original, tells a story of lost love set against the windswept plains of eastern Wyoming. It features Becky on guitar and lead vocals and the multi-talented Kenny Wilson on pedal steel guitar.

A Hard Days Night – Beatles Tribute

The leader of A Hard Day`s Night, Joe Covert is an experienced thirty year veteran of the music business. He was born and raised in South Minneapolis where his grandfather, Ray Covert, worked as a professional musician before touring the world with the USO during the Second World War. The elder Covert had a steady gig at the Warwick Hotel in New York City, the place where the Beatles stayed before performing on the Ed Sullivan Show. Joe still has stacks of his grandfather`s old promotional material. Some of Joe`s earliest memories are of listening to his grandfather sing and play guitar. Joe was fortunate to grow up in a family where music was encouraged. His parents made sure that all six Covert children received piano lessons. Joe had a great family, stable home and two loving parents. This shaped him into the person he is today. All of his childhood memories embody that warm, comfortable environment in South Minneapolis, the joy of singing Christmas carols with his siblings, the security of knowing that he was loved and valued. Joe got his first guitar at the age of 14, an electric bass guitar. He soon hooked up with his neighborhood buddies and formed the band “Dark Earth.” This band morphed into “Bryant Avenue,” an extraordinarily talented group of guys. Joe was the beneficiary of an idyllic youth surrounded by dedicated, gifted and loyal friends. He holds many fond memories of those days.
