Job Title: Building Manager, Marion Ross Performing Arts Center – 147 N. Broadway; Albert Lea, MN 56007
Reports to: Albert Lea Community Theatre (ACT) Board of Directors
Job Overview: This position is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Marion Ross Performing Arts Center and booking/promotion of concerts and events at the facility, other than ACT shows. The building manager provides a monthly report to the ACT Board of Directors.
Responsibilities/Duties include:
- Building Check
- Ensure building is locked, clean, lights turned off, and thermostat is set appropriately.
- Building Maintenance
- Change light bulbs when needed.
- Trash bags emptied.
- Clean up spills, unclog toilets, keep restrooms tidy, etc. (Regular custodial cleaning is contracted out)
- Snow and ice removal near entrances. (City does snow removal on Broadway sidewalk.)
- Coordination/Liaison with Vendors and Subcontractors
- This includes cleaning service, plumbers, electricians, carpenters, etc.
- Order Building Supplies
- Toilet paper, paper towels, soap, urinal blocks, light bulbs, garbage bags, etc.
- Upload Events to Ticket Service
- Create events and upload information into WizTix ticket service.
- Maintain and update events on WizTix as needed.
- Contact WizTix if there are any ticket service issues.
- Update Lobby Event Signage
- Events and dates listed in the lobby window (does not include the digital marquee).
- Booking Entertainment and Events
- Contact for any party interested in renting the facility.
- Negotiate and execute written rental agreements.
- Work with ACT treasurer regarding rental payments and revenue payouts from entertainers.
- Accommodate/Supervise Renters and Entertainers
- Unlock building, greet talent/renters.
- Advise or assist with lighting and sound setup.
- Perform a building check after the event and lock the building.
Qualifications: Must be organized, have good people skills and the ability to work on a computer occasionally. This is a part-time position. Hours are flexible and vary, often depending on the dates and times of events. Training for all the above responsibilities will be provided.
